Pecan Pie Protein Bars: No-Bake, 13g Protein

November 03, 2026

The next six weeks are a blur of school concerts, work parties, cookie trays in the break room and long drives to see family. The women who come out of December leaner are not the ones with the most willpower. They are the ones who walk into every one of those rooms already fed, so the appetizer table is a choice and not an ambush. Picture the Christmas photo where you are front row instead of hiding behind a kid. These bars help get you there. They taste like pecan pie, they need zero baking, and each one carries 13 grams of protein. Ten minutes to mix, 45 minutes in the freezer, eight bars in the fridge, and the busiest weeks of the year get a lot less chaotic.

Why Pecan Pie Protein Bars Work for Fat Loss

Most holiday overeating is not one big meal. It is a hundred small moments where you were hungry, something sweet was sitting right there, and nothing else was. Hungry plus available beats good intentions every time. A bar in your bag changes the math.

A typical slice of pecan pie is often 450 calories or more with about 5 grams of protein, most of it sugar and butter. These bars land around 230 calories with 13 grams of protein, plus oats for carbs that keep you going and enough fat to keep you full.

And it matters most on the days that feel like they do not count. Those are the days that undo the week, the same way weekends quietly undo a perfect Monday through Thursday. Hitting your protein on the messy days is what keeps your jeans loose in January.

No-Bake Pecan Pie Protein Bars Recipe

Protein 13g  |  Fat 11g  |  Carbs 19g per bar, about 230 calories (recipe makes 8 bars)

Prep: 10 minutes. Freezer: 45 minutes. No bake. Adapted from a no-bake pecan pie protein bar by Sophia Dimkopoulos, RD, reworked for Prime Protein, with the macros recalculated for 3 scoops of Prime.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3 scoops Salted Caramel protein powder (I use Equip Prime Protein, 30% off with code COACHCAM)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (or any nut butter)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 to 5 Tbsp milk, added 1 Tbsp at a time
  • 1/4 cup pecan halves

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, stir the oats, protein powder, cinnamon, cloves and salt together so the spices are spread through.
  2. Add the peanut butter and maple syrup and mix. Then add the milk one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each, until everything comes together as a thick dough that holds when you squeeze it.
  3. Fold in the pecans. Line a loaf pan with parchment and press the dough in firmly and evenly.
  4. Freeze for 45 minutes, lift it out by the parchment and slice into 8 bars. Store them in the fridge.

Macros are calculated for Prime Protein at 21 grams of protein a scoop and will shift a little by flavor and brand. Log the bag you actually used.

What Makes the Macros Work

Three scoops of protein powder carry most of the protein, which is why this bar gets to 13 grams without any added protein crisps or isolates. The oats give it real carbs and some fiber, so it actually holds you over instead of disappearing in ten minutes. The peanut butter and pecans are where the 11 grams of fat come from, and that is on purpose. This is a higher-fat bar than most of my recipes, built for staying power on a long day. The flavor trick is the cinnamon and the pinch of cloves. Combined with Salted Caramel, that is what makes it taste like pecan pie instead of a generic oat bar.

Tips for Bars That Hold Together

The milk is where people go wrong. Dump all 5 tablespoons in at once and you get a sticky paste that never firms up. Add it one spoon at a time and stop the moment the dough holds when you press it. Press the dough HARD into the pan, using the bottom of a measuring cup if you have one. Loose pressing is why homemade bars crumble.

Swaps and Variations

Salted Caramel is the pecan pie flavor, but Vanilla works if that is what you have. Cinnamon Roll turns these into a cinnamon pecan bar, Peanut Butter doubles down on the PB, and Chocolate gives you a chocolate pecan version that tastes like the pie with chips in it. Any nut butter works, and almond or cashew butter keeps the pecan flavor front and center. Need it nut free? Use sunflower seed butter and swap the pecans for pumpkin seeds. Want more carbs for a training day? Fold in 2 tablespoons of chopped dates and log them.

How to Fit It Into Your Day

The best spot for these is the gap where the cookie tray usually wins. Three in the afternoon before school pickup. The car on the way to a party. The airport on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. One bar before a holiday party means you pick the two things on the appetizer table you actually want instead of grazing on everything. At 11 grams of fat, it fits best on a day you have not already spent your fat on cheese and butter, so count it in early and plan around it.

Meal Prep Notes

This is a batch recipe by design. Make it Sunday and you have 8 bars for the week. They keep in the fridge for about a week. For longer, freeze them in a freezer bag and pull one out about 15 minutes before you want it.

Here is the shift. December was never the problem. Going all day on coffee and willpower, then meeting a cookie tray at 4pm on an empty tank, is the problem. Plan the protein, eat the damn food, and the holidays get a lot quieter. If you want a coach to build your numbers around your real calendar, parties and all, apply for coaching here.

The Protein I Use (and Its Biggest Sale of the Year)

Equip Prime Protein grass-fed beef isolate protein powder bag

These bars are built around Equip Prime Protein. It is a gut-friendly, dairy free, whole food sourced protein made from grass-fed beef isolate, with naturally occurring collagen and gelatin. No whey, no gluten, no soy. No gums. No sugar alcohols. No fake sweeteners. Nothing artificial, ever. Every flavor comes in a regular and a stevia-free version, and I buy stevia-free because I cannot stand the aftertaste. Salted Caramel is the flavor for these bars. Cinnamon Roll, Peanut Butter and Chocolate all work in them too, and those are the ones I always keep on the shelf.

Equip's Black Friday sale runs Thursday, November 19th through Monday, November 30th: 40% off subscriptions and 30% off one-time orders through equipfoods.com/COACHCAM or with code COACHCAM at checkout. It is the biggest sale they run all year, so it is the time to stock up for the season. Grab Salted Caramel for these bars and Vanilla or Cinnamon Roll for my gingerbread cheesecake dip. That is an affiliate link, so I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It is the only protein I recommend to my clients. If you already have a powder you like, any scoop in the 20 to 25 gram protein range works here, just log what you used.
