The Journey That Brought Me Here

About me

If you would’ve told me about 12 years ago, that I would be an online nutrition coach with my own thriving company, website, email newsletter, and app to coach people in, I would’ve laughed in your face. I never could have pictured that this is where I would currently be and what I would be doing- but I am so grateful that it is.

I have always been very into fitness, nutrition, and sports. I was active pretty much my whole life- playing all the sports growing up- and eventually filtering off to just lacrosse. I have always loved connecting with people and encouraging them to be their best selves. I guess it does make sense that I have ended up here, but it’s a little bit of a hard journey to follow.

I spent the majority of my adult life living in Neptune Beach, Florida bartending at different breweries. Somehow that lead me up to Asheville, North Carolina where I worked for a brewery named Wicked Weed. I eventually met the love of my life and soulmate, Cory, and he moved up to Asheville and we eventually got married. We were pretty active as a couple- we were always hiking and having a great time. When we found out I was pregnant with my daughter Rowan, we decided to move down to where Cory had been living previously, Charleston, South Carolina. I missed the beach and the warmer weather, so it was an easy choice for me. Pregnancy was rough for me. I was definitely not a mom that enjoyed it at all.

During pregnancy, I gained over seventy pounds. There’s no easier way to say it- I just did. It was the first time in my life I wasn’t working out, I was eating whatever I wanted, and I was “eating for two” so it was ok. Well, when Rowan came out weighing only a little under 8 pounds, I was pretty confused about the other 60+ pounds that I was still carrying. I was miserable. I hated myself, I had no clothes that fit, and I wanted to be as far as possible from any pictures- which is really hard when you have a new born baby and family visiting. I cried almost every day while I was getting dressed and it was probably the lowest I have ever felt in my life.

I decided that I was going to do whatever I needed to do to get back to myself.

I quit bartending.  I decided to get my NASM CPT (certified personal trainer) re-newed and became a group fitness instructor. I instantly remembered how much I loved everything about the fitness industry! Encouraging hundreds of people, to reach their goals every day. I was working on mine at the same time and I became submerged in all thing’s health and wellness.

I even started a meal prep company- Freshly Fueled- and we were voted best in Charleston 2 years in a row! Through the meal prep company I started taking on nutrition clients. This eventually lead to Cory and I creating our own app where our clients tracked food to their assigned macro balances and followed our custom workouts. We even began taking personal training clients at a gym we rented. During all of this, I began to have my own transformation alongside my clients- putting in the same work that I was asking of them.

I’m still working towards where I want to be, but I am extremely proud of what I have accomplished.

I have learned a lot through my own experience as well as completing ongoing certifications, and because of both of these, I have a lot of knowledge to use to help my clients. I know the struggles and I know how to overcome them. I know how terrible it feels to hate how you look and to hide from pictures. I know how amazing it is to start seeing results and to start feeling better about yourself. I will be your biggest supporter and a reliable source of information throughout your journey. I’ll teach you everything I know, guaranteed. Yes, you read that correctly- we guarantee our clients results. I love my clients and I just want them to feel how I did when I got my life back.

Are you ready to start your journey?

THREE THINGS THAT FUEL ME:

Fitness

Truly my favorite thing. I've done some pretty cool things in this industry- from leading a fitness retreat to Mexico to working out at 1st Phorm HQ- this is a huge part of who I am. Check out my fit guides for some programming by yours truly!

Family

The reason I do anything. They keep me motivated and working hard. They're my team, my biggest supporters, and my entire world. I wouldn't be who I am without my husband, Cory, and my daughter, Rowan.

Food

Food is fuel and your girl loves to eat. I actually get really hangry if I haven't, ask my husband. I love to cook too. Definitely check out my cook book for macro friendly & delicious recipes.
